LUBRICATION PLAN
Checklist for lubrication plan
- The grease nipples (grease fittings) are located at the pin ends of all the pivot points.
- First clean the tail lift thoroughly so the grease nipples (grease fittings) are clean.
- All the pivot points should have a grease collar, which protects against sand and salt. A grease collar is a small amount grease emerging all around the seal.
- Before lubrication, place the platform on the ground so there is no load on the pivot points.
- Make sure all the grease nipples (grease fittings) are, in fact, passing grease all the way to the outer collar of the pivot bearings, and replace defective grease nipples.
- If an automatic central greasing system is installed, check whether all the lines and nipple connections are in good condition and are receiving enough grease.
- On slide-under tail lifts the sliding system with rectangular tubes must not be lubricated. The slide brackets with round sliding brackets must be lubricated with grease over the entire inner surface. It is a good idea to do this four times a year in normal use.
- Always use acid-free grease.
- Check the platform lock.
- Spray the slide tubes with a protective spray.
