External control
This is a central control that is mounted on the kerb side of the truck. With this control it is possible to operate the tail lift from one location. This includes: extension and retraction, opening and closing, raising and lowering.
The standard external control is equipped with a two-hand safety control with selector switch that switches between the outside control and the extra control. In panel vans and other vehicles with a limited chassis height the load platform is usually operated with an outside control integrated in the wall of the body.
Tail lifts are equipped with a two-hand safety control. This makes it necessary for the driver to use both hands or feet when operating the tail lift. This ensures that the upper or lower limbs or the head cannot become trapped between the platform and the rear frame of the truck.
