13-07-2011 - Haco opens Haco Technology Center (HTC)

In June, Haco formally opened the Haco Technology Center (HTC). The HTC is Haco’s knowledge centre for materials, test equipment, product development and hydraulics. For example, the HTC has launched its own dynamic test bench for cylinders. Cylinders of all types and sizes can be tested on this test bench, which can define and implement a range of simulations.

 Various Haco cylinders have thus been subjected to durability tests to study the wear and tear of Haco gaskets in relation to the wall roughness of the cylinder pipe. Before introducing a new Haco cylinder, durability tests are performed on the movements of at least 50,000 tail lifts. All the findings and test results are recorded in the HTC system. There are many new developments related to test equipment too. For example, at Haco all manual controls are tested on arrival and 10% of the manual controls are also subjected to a detailed internal inspection.

Where possible, Haco applies a zero defect policy. The HTC has a comprehensive range of test and inspection equipment including hardness meters, roughness meters, thickness meters (e.g. for the chrome layer), etc. There are currently 4 employees working at the HTC who are totally focused on quality assurance and product development of all Haco products. In the coming years, Haco plans to invest more in HTC.  cylinder, durability tests are performed on the movements of at least 50,000 tail lifts. All the findings and test results are recorded in the HTC system.

Haco is introducing a motor to the market as an alternative for the original, which is suitable for the smaller MBB Palfinger and AMA tail lifts (500 kg and 750 kg). Due to the lengthy test protocol adopted by Haco, the development stage lasted somewhat longer than originally planned.

The Haco motor is 100% compatible with and exchangeable with the original MBB and AMA motors.

The Haco range of cylinders has been expanded further with 6 cylinder types suitable for Dautel and MBB-Palfinger. An alternative for the DLB 36 lifting cylinder and 4 lifting and closing cylinders for the DLB 47 have been developed in addition to a short Ø70 lifting cylinder suitable for the MBB-Palfinger. The Haco cylinders come with a full 2-year guarantee and the piston and plunger rods are made from inductively hardened steel with a >30 micron chrome layer. The new Haco cylinders are 15% to 25% less expensive than the originals.

After one year of development efforts, Haco is now introducing 4 types of motor solenoids (12V and 24V) for the most popular types of tail lifts. These motor relays comply with the strictest requirements and use a silver alloy for the contact elements in the solenoid. In accordance with the relevant technical requirements, the relay is protected against voltages which are too low or too high and can deal with peak loads very effectively. The starter relay is also waterproof. Every starter relay has a Haco label specifying article number, continuous Amperage of the relay and 12V or 24V.

After six months in the pipeline, Haco can now offers an alternative for the Bär foot switch.

The design has been kept virtually identical, and as a result the foot switch is 100% compatible. Haco has used the original Schmersal switch for its Bär foot switch, with a 1.5-metre cable. Haco launches its own line of manual controls for tail lifts.

Now, for the new model of Dhollandia manual control with magnet, Haco has its own alternative. Design has been kept virtually identical and the contact elements are fully interchangeable. Haco has made a number of improvements over the original:

• A new O-ring in the manual control, with subtle modifications to the housing to make the unit stronger and more waterproof.

• Use of a white magnet instead of black magnet (not only stronger but more long-lasting)

• Use of heavier industrial cable with longer lifetime.

The Haco manual control is easily recognised by its blue colour and by the Haco logo on the unit itself. Haco Tail Lift Parts has launched a new website. The new site has not only been redesigned in accordance with the new house style but has also been improved in many ways in terms of functionality.

We are working hard to make it as easy and transparent as possible for our clients to work with our system. To realise this, we will gradually be introducing a new article structure and coding system in the course of this year. The new article structure will be completely transparent for the client in terms of what is being purchased. For example, a clear differentiation is made between original parts from tail lift suppliers, OEM parts and Haco parts.

The new structure will allow you to easily see whether an alternative is available for a specific product and what you would be saving should you choose the alternative. As our client, the choice is always up to you.

The extensive search functionality has also been significantly improved, and you can now search on the basis of several criteria simultaneously in order to find the appropriate product as quickly as possible.

If you would like to discover how the new system works, you can, for example, try out the new and improved functionality by searching for a common cylinder type.

To implement the new article structure, more than 10,000 articles must be created and entered into the system. Thousands of new photographs of products must also be made and entered. This obviously entails a great deal of work, and the transition process will therefore be a gradual one and continue until the fall of 2009.

The new website is available in Dutch, German and English. In the near future, the languages available will be expanded to include French, Turkish, Russian and Polish.
